Misty Caress

Sometimes even in the midst of what may be a dark hour, a clip of nature throws a gentle lilt to show that life does go on, it isn’t always drudge, it isn’t always about the long drawn out events.

“A poor life this if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare”

  1. I love your image. I can imagine myself in the midst, looking up at that misty tree.

This world has provided so many distractions that even the most beautiful, serene scene is easy to neglect. I, myself is guilty. I tend to get caught up with a moment but I’d rather take a photo of it than to actually “look and enjoy” it.

    • Ah, this is indeed the trouble. Sometimes in our effort to capture we do miss the full effect only to find what we have captured doesn’t properly reflect what we have seen sufficiently. When I see people at concerts recording the whole thing on their phone I do wonder whether or not they will actually watch the whole thing and be disappointed at the distorted sound quality and poor imagery. Even the best mobile phone has not the dimension perception of the human eye.

However of course capturing preserves a memory of something that might otherwise recede. To elect a slew of other images in our mind. These days I am finding it important to take pictures of people because you lose them and they grow old either with or without you but you and they never stay the same.

  2. I totally get you on the concert thing. I go to concert for that “moment” which even the latest gadget will never be able to capture. Sometimes, it could not even be captured in words.
